April workshops and plans

During April 2014 we changed the plans somewhat as the weather continued extremely hot and we delayed the planned topics: People of the Cederberg in the past and one on conservation and nature.

Instead we held one on the topic of friends and how important they are – and the difference, in fact, between friends, best friends, girlfriends and those girls spotted only in magazines and films.

We also held a larger workshop with music and books. Workshop manager Anele Mhlahlo brought his violin and we talked about the difference between listening while looking around – and listening while really concentrating. Our workshop book was The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico – a painting done by the children at Saturday Stories a week later illustrates this.

There will be one more Saturday Stories in April, after the Easter and other public holidays have settled down.
