This beautiful book, with poetry by Ingrid Jonker and Antjie Krog has the most wonderful illustrations by Fiona Moodie. (You might remember Fynbos Fairies by the same illustrator.)
A vetplant is a succulent – and South Africa has the richest and most diverse group of these plants in the world. We ought to celebrate these hardy survivors more.
There is very little written for young people about and in the Karoo, and this is a welcome addition.
