This is not a proposed project. It is a project that is nearly complete. The Red reading Toolbox is signed off to the editors. The Blue Reading Toolbox will be launched during heritage month in September. The Green Reading toolbox is in progress.
The biggest part of a three-year dedicated reading project was the:
- Concept development
- The research
- The writing
- The themed activities development
- Even more research
- The trialing with children
- The development of the filing system for each box
- The selection and procurement of the books
- The editing and review
We have done all that. We did it on a shoestring budget with a LOT of help from our friends and with funders who truly believed in what we do – and want to do. We thank them for that – and for all the volunteer people who gave so generously of their time to make this happen.
But it won’t be over until the children sing! Our job now is to finish the materials for the Green and the Blue reading Toolboxes (as above), to get the whole thing onto production (Red Toolbox packaged by March 25, Blue Toolbox by September 25 and Green Toolbox by November 25). The need is pressing and the time for this project is NOW.

We need investment to print, to buy the books, to pay the people who make the project happen … we need to get out of the development phase and into the production phase.
