Lockdown Learning continues

Now in it’s fifth week, with daily activities, reading, writing and illustrating as well as games and songs, we hope this is making a difference in difficult times.

The weather has changed, and the glorious autumn days of early lockdown have been replaced by proper Cape winter weather. Cold and wet and stormy. Vuyo is doing an absolutely fabulous job with the children. Some work at home as per the lockdown regulations. Some gather at Vuyo’s home in the afternoons (most of these pictures form there).

The material we send is carefully selected and sometimes specially written to match the reading levels with interest levels for these children, who we have been working with for over four years now. We still have two weeks to go of this initial 8-week project for 100 children in lockdown. Given the circumstances, it now looks as if The Happiness Project, scheduled for Week-8 as a grand finale, will actually lead into the next phase and a further project for – possibly – another eight weeks.

The materials we have produced are available free on our website as well:
