Our choir began as a community building exercise,but has grown from there.
In Stanford we work with children from two communities and two schools. Singing seemed like a good idea to bring everyone together – and it was. But nobody had any idea how successful it would prove to be.
The combined talents of our marvelous choir facilitators – Vuyo, Phumlani and Nyasha with Phumeza on percussion (clapping), coupled with the input from Hip-Hop singer Blaq Pearl have created something splendid. Hearing them at the recent holiday workshops, brought tears to some eyes and smiles to everyone.
We are now working on a plan to go big … well, bigger … and to combine with other music makers in Hermanus. Ideas that have been in the background for far too long are beginning to become possible. Just watch us!
