After the success of the inaugural Teen Team last year, we have regrouped.
This year we have eleven names on our list. With the busy school programme, and other activities, it is unlikely that all eleven will ever be available for a workshop, but they will rotate and share the many tasks we have in mind for them.
On 14 March, we had an informal meeting at Hermanus High School to set the ball rolling. This follows several meetings with students and staff to work out a structure. The participants will be able to work towards school colours and certificates form CBN, and their input will be carefully recorded for this purpose.
One of the stated aims of Children’s Book Network is to LISTEN to children, but in a busy workshop environment this is sometimes difficult. The Teen Team will be our eyes and ears (and scribes and photographers) and will greatly assist with our new Monitoring and Evaluation systems. We look forward to working with them, beginning with two major workshops next week on 18 and 19 March.
