Change happens. Usually it is uncomfortable, but it happens anyway. So it is with regret that we say goodbye to three loyal board members from Rotary Newlands – our Chair, Roy Zazeraj and supporting members Kenny van Aardt and Mike Walwyn.
Being a member of a board is usually a spur-of-the-moment thing. Somebody asks you at a Rotary dinner, you think it would be a good idea – and it looks like a good project … before you know it, you are deep in quarterly meetings, activating bank accounts and making decisions.
For those who do it, society has a great debt of gratitude. Without you, civil society would not operate at all, never mind effectively. So to ALL board members, but particularly our much loved three retirees, THANK YOU!
