We are holding a free three-day workshop with Stanford and Die Kop children who have be attending workshops on the excitement of reading and stories for nearly three years now.
Children’s Book Network has been working with children in several areas for five years, and currently also offer workshops in Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain. Activities (between books, stories and reading) range from making masks and puppets to writing songs and creating artworks.
The Winter Workshops in the school holidays will run from 10.00 am to 2.00 and will include a healthy snack to start and lunch at 12.30.
Musical input will come from a group of Hermanus High boys who have asked to help and who intend to introduce isiXhosa songs, Vuyokazi Sizwe, who already facilitates workshops in Stanford and Nash Makwarimba, long-standing CBN volunteer.
Funding from National Lotteries Commission and the Paddy and Sue Kell Family Trust make it possible for CBN to give these workshops.
