Training Workshop for Vuyokazi Siza

It has always been a dream to find, and train, people from within the communities we work with. Vuyo Siza is just such a person. She already works at Butterfly Centre – a wonderful school for children with special needs – and has assisted with many workshops over the last two years. Now she has said she would like to give workshops herself.

Not only that, she wants to involve her own community at Die Kop (midway between Stanford and Gansbaai). Parent there are concerned about their children’s reading and would like the opportunity to find out how they can help. Flyers have been made and a community meeting will be held soon.

On 3 March we held the first of two training workshops. The fist ne was with a small group of fie children from Die Kop. No problems there! Vuyo can hold her own with the best of them! The second training workshop was going to be with twelve children – but inevitably grew, so there were 18 children.

Next step is for Vuyo to organise and manage workshops with minimal help – so that this programme can continue and grow. CBN is right behind her!
