Introducing CBN Friends: Chantel Oosthuysen

p7129610

Any organization needs a firm hand on the paperwork and CBN has been doubly fortunate to have Chantel looking after ours.

She has devotedly steered us through the perils of registering as an NPO, registering for tax exemption and obtaining a clean audit on four years of accounts from SARS. These, of course, are major achievements.

But we also wish to acknowledge here her devotion to the real reason for Children’s Book Network – the children. Who picks up the key from the venue? Chantel. Who checks that we have enough paper cups for the breakfast juice? Chantel. Who makes sure that all the invoices are paid? Chantel.

The very best news we could have had at the end of a hard-working year is that she has agreed to stay on as Administration Manager until March 2018. This will mean that we will be safely steered through a change in board, a funding grant from the National lotteries and the setting up of systems to deal with that, and a fresh new start to a new year. (And we will also have the right number of paper cups for the workshops.)

Thank you Chantel!
