Our next workshop will be on Saturday 23 September at 10.00, at The Butterfly Centre in Stanford. This is the beginning of a project that will extend into the summer holidays, where we will be looking at the world of the children in Stanford, Hermanus and Gansbaai (and, hopefully, other places in the Overstrand region). Each participant will make a book of their world. The first two units will include:

Who lives in my house
Who is important in my life
I am …
What my name means and who gave it to me

Inside my house
My house in my town (maps and photographs)
My history (where I came from)
A story about my family
The whole project will include ten units – expanding along the way into the environment where each child lives, the problems they face, the fun they have and their dreams for the future. Our hope is to publish a book that gives an impression of the lives of the children in this region.
