School holidays are just round the corner (again!) and there will be a full programme for children in Clanwilliam:

International Children’s Book Day on Thursday 2nd April will see a workshop featuring some of the best of the old stories with Lesley Beake and some delving into the past by Rock Art guide David van der Westhuizen between 2.00 and 5.00. Juice and biscuits will be served. This is for Grades 7 & 8. At Living Landscape.

On 8, 9 and 10 April, the CBN team of crocE Moses, Anele Mhlahlo, Rosemary Bangham and Emily Hallinan will once again weave their special magic around the theme of Land Time and People in our Olifants River Valley. This workshop will be for Grades 4,5 and 6 at Living Landscape. Start time 10.– with lunch at 12.30 and finish at 2.30.

Grades 9 to 11 will have a special treat with two workshops at the library given by FUNZA. The first of these on the afternoon of 9 April will be on how to write a good essay (and believe us, they know!). Library between 2.00 and 5.00.

The same grades 9 to 11 will have a further workshop on 10 April when FUNZA will explore stories on cellphones. This is a first for Clanwilliam and should be tremendously popular. Library 10.00 – 12.30

Once again, CBN thanks Clanwilliam Library for their help with advertising and registration for these courses and Clanwilliam Tourism for help in spreading news of the workshops.

All of these workshops come under the auspices of the Social Responsibility Programme associated with the raising of the Clanwillaim Dam wall in association with the Deapartment of Water and Sanitation, PGS Heritage and Clanwilliam Living Landscape Project.

Events for the younger children will be arranged dutring term time. There will also be a programme for Grade 4 at Elizabethfontein Primary for children who cannot come into Clanwilliam for the workshops.
