It’s winter. It’s raining. It’s difficult. But progress continues on the new Red Hill Library project.
When the waterproofing is complete, the floor can go in – and then the fun will start. It has been a long process, complicated by beaurocratic problems, delays and frustrations that would have stopped a lesser woman than Liz Danks, who is coordinating (perhaps that should read living and breathing) the project.
In the meantime, business as usual with children queuing up for their books and community volunteers manning the desk. Plastic library bags are the order of the day with much discussion of the relative merits of the chosen books. This is a little library that can – and will.
Watch this space for more details of forthcoming workshops and the grand opening, now planned for September.
