During the 2016 IBBY General Assembly in Auckland last month, a motion was put forward as a result of discussions during the Open Forum. It was a call-to-action to urge all people working in the field of children’s literature to look for solutions to help the children and young people who find themselves refugees. These young people need our help and we firmly believe that stories and libraries can help them find their way in their new homes.
The IBBY Statement about our call-to-action is attached to this mail. Please disseminate it to all your members and relevant journals. The Statement is posted on the IBBY Website and spread widely through social media.
