Red Hill Workshop 13th February

possi-cover

A remarkable team of musicians and storytellers will assemble in Simon’s Town Library on 13th February to work with 25 children from Red Hill informal settlement and their community worker Buyiswa Ponti.

Blaq Pearl will facilitate song and story writing, Marlene Winberg will tell stories, violinist Anele Mhlahlo and guitarist Dirkie van Staden will work as a team on musical dreams, Olivia Winberg will assist with artwork. Anne-Marie Losman will take photographs – it is going to be a complete blast.

The theme of the workshop is Dreams and Fears and we will be using Tamlyn Young’s delightful book The Possibilitree, published by Bumble Books in 2015.
For more information on the book, go to www.printmatters.co.za Donated copies of the book will be left in the community library at Red Hill. (Books donated by Bumble Books and by Charlotte and Ivan Beck, former Capetonians now resident in Vancouver.)

There will also be books donated to the children by Book Dash: www.bookdash.org
